The trouble with UPSes is that they generate square wave
power trains instead of sine waves so that they often
produce a nasty hummmmm in the system.

It depends a lot on your gear.  A power conditioner
between the unit and the gear would probably be
VERY useful.

Your Mileage May Vary... make sure you can take the unit
back if it doesn't do what you like.
