i was fortunate enough to get to test the beta versions of lck.
what you say is true, and that alone is pretty cool.
but it also can do things no other looper can do (though i haven't tried 
eventide orville)
and some things that would be very difficult to do with other loopers.

a few quick examples, but check out the manual for deeper explanations:
   fragment loopers allow you to do band-in-a-box type stuff with live 
input.
   mutators allow you to process the loop iteratively (each repeat is 
processed again)

kyma is a very powerful tool and the lck expands it capabilities in great 
loopy fashion.
i regret to say that life has kept me from exploring it's depths, but i 
can tell already
that great things will come from it's use...
