The GR-30 has the sound you describe, Mark, I have one. I don't 
have a GR-33: I remember there was a lot of overlap on the sounds between 
the 30 and 33, but there were differences. If they didn't change the sound 
from the 30 to the 33 you're mentioning, it's pretty good in my ears. I 
think I'd like it better without the tabla beat, personally.

Back to last night's discussion on this topic: I have and use a Danelectro 
Sitar Swami. It doesn't sound much like a sitar to me and I consider it 
to be a massive error in advertising, but I do like it at times. I use it 
sparingly and almost never by itself, though.
