just out of reach (low end loopers)

yes, i will agree that you don't need the high end equipment to make your music (loop or otherwise). my main looper is my digitech rp100 (100$, seen them for 1/2 that price used) which i use for 2 sec loops, 2 sec seemed like a long time compared to my old yamaha delay pedal that had 1.2 sec of delay. and my ibanez de7 is great for loop time manipulation from short to 2.6 sec (doesn't do infinate delay, kind of peters out after 10 repeats or so, sort of strange, but it's cheap too, in 60$ range), and then lastly, my long looper is the dod d-12 which i got for 120$ as new old stock, i've seen ads for them for under 100$, but it is a decent tool.

oh, update- a week or so i posted that i was having problems w/ my dod d12 w/ live in the studio loops i've been experimenting w/, well, it turns out that my lexicon mpx100 bit the dust, which was a total surprise. so i've been experimenting w/ a very minimal set up. it's funny i remember seeing a debate of rack gear vs. pedals, and had a bunch of used inexpensive rack gear at time, and thought my sound was decent, but as of late, i seem to be moving to mostly pedals for that easy manipulation option...very strange sonic process for me, again, all very inexpensive.....

ps-in the painting reference, if you didn't have the primary colors to paint w/ (that'd be red, yellow, blue), you'd still have the secondary colors-orange, violet, & green, which combined w/ black & white would still give you quite a range of color....and there are plenty of artists who have made a career using just black and white or one color + b/w.......
