OT: video looping

Do you think video looping is too off topic for Loopers Delight?

I've been doing a series of loop videos in Sony Vegas (which is exactly
analogous to the way Sony ACID chops and manipulates audio loops)
using a very cheap Radio Shack digital camera that will only shoot
30 second, very, very lo fi videos.

I'm finally beginning to be a little frustrated by the 30 second limitation
and am considering buying an inexpensive digital video camera

Can anyone advise me on something that is either
1) brand new and inexpensive but impressive in terms of quality? or
2) something that is trailing edge technology that is still malleable and
of decent quality.

I don't have very much money but I'm loving doing this work to accompany
my next cd of Abstract Electronica (that is heavily loop based but not
real
time loop based),
"ORANGE" due on a DVD multi-media format in time for Y2k6.

I appreciate the advice in advance.

If people are offended by this post (for being off topic) please forgive
me
and just write me
offlist.

yours, Rick Walker
