Hi there,

Im a long time lurker, though I don't own a looping device (but im waiting
for some weeks for the 2880, getting the pedal is a big problem here in
Europe). good information in this group .
Thought maybe I could help and shine in.

I also own a fireface. And it is a great tool indeed. I use a reussenzehn
blackface (a small preamp with a tube in it) as pre for guitar. And I
actually don't care if I fool myself, as long as it makes me happy.

But about playing dvd's with the fireface800. are you using the newest
driver and fut? What software are you using for watching a dvd? And is this
software using the mme, the wdm or the asio drivers? Have you raised the
buffer in the settings of the card?

I have no problems what so ever for watching dvds with the rme. Even using
surround sound. Feel free to mail me private when you think there is a
change I can help, most people here are not interested in reading the
outcome I guess. There are also some helpful folks on the newsgroup from
rme
www.rme-audio.de. Or you could go to the syntax forum

I have to throw in my 2 cents here, the integrated RME
fireface 800 preamps and speakers simulation is
nothing but killer either for bass or guitar! it
really sounds wonderful without having to buy x-tra
hardware.
The only thing i have to nag about the fireface 800
preamp soundcard is trying to play a DVD,it glitches
like hell and ive tried just about everything,it won´t
do it however when you play a downloaded film .mov
.avi or audio. So i have to change my souncard
preferences to the PCs sigmatel audio everytime i want
to play a DVD.Or if u have a suggestion or solution
please let me know!
cheers
Luis
