Way way back in the last century, THE AMBiENT PiNG began presenting live multimedia performances featuring innovative and experimental artists exploring the many forms of ambient music. From 1999 to 2006, the PiNG produced AMBiENT PiNG TUESDAYS as a weekly series of live performances held in a variety of nightclubs in the Toronto area. Since the late summer of 2006 and after seven years of weekly shows, the PiNG now presents AMBiENT PiNG TUESDAYS on a monthly basis. In addition to this monthly series, the PiNG continues its tradition of periodically presenting international and local artists live in a variety of alternative concert spaces. . For our 343rd show, we celebrate 8 YEARS OF LiVE @ THE PiNG and bring you a treat by presenting a heaping helping of some of the many artists who have defined the flavour of the PiNG. Back from last year's anniversary show are dreamSTATE (ambient electronic soundscapes) and GENERAL CHAOS VISUALS (psychedelic eye candy), who will be joined by AMBIENT-TV (ambience by PiNG founder A. Sprogis), Synş (percussive synthetics from Terry Campbell's multi-year project) A PRETTY SONIC SPLATTER (progressive electronics by Anne Sukowski of Building Castles out of Matchsticks and Phil Ogison of The Devil in the Design), NOiNO (improvised experimental with Jim Bailey, Matthew Poulakakis and Jamie Todd) and SYLKEN (space music featuring Eric Hopper with dreamSTATE's Scott M2 and Jamie Todd reprising their past when all three played together as Radio Silence.) . To make the night even more special, NOiNO, SYLKEN and Synş will all be releasing their new CDs, so check out their new music and all the other cool stuff at the ping things' media table.
