Re: RME Firewire 800 and Guitar Amp Sim - Preamps

Check it out...

Digital Input of  RME Fireface 400:  Input Digital: 1 x ADAT optical or SPDIF optical, SPDIF coaxial (AES/EBU compatible)

Digital Output of my Boss VF-1 (which is decent amp/cab sims): Coaxial (EIAJ CP-1201, S/P DIF)

Anyone thinking what I'm thinking? Granted, this bypasses the FW400 inserts; however it's a digital connection between VF1 and FW400, and I still get all the nice DA conversion of the FW400, etc.

Bill, others who were at Y2K6 last year...remember my tone? It was my VF1 running into Indigo IO (tiny 1/8th inch inputs/outputs), Laptop, and max/msp. Imagine the VF1 with a digital connection with the FW400 into my laptop and max/msp. Could be freakin' magical!
