I'm willing to try it out, but have we agreed to the criteria for what counts as an OT topic?  I wouldn't want to loose any valuable discussion archived on LD, because we pushed it to another list. This concerns me...the whole idea of segregating topics concerns me. I am still a proponent of letting the list regulate itself.

As I said yesterday, I created a google groups mailing list called "Looper's Delight Off Topic", located here :

If people from the LD list subscribe to this other list to talk about whatever they want, the result will be the same for them and people who just want info about looping will be delighted here :)

If someone wants to be admin (even though there's not much to do as far as this is concerned) I'll happily transfer the "ownership" to him/her. I just created it so that it'd be easier for people to switch to someting else... 

The reactions seemed to be very positive when I proposed this a few days ago, that's why I insist ;)
