Re: Laptop live looping (new issue)

Hi Ariel,

I use an Intel Mac, 2.2 with 2 gigs of RAM

Ableton 7

Sooperlooper as an Audio Unit

MOTU Traveler (the only reason i don't have an Ultralite is that it came out after I got my traveler... AND my lappy fits better on top of it, lol)

this is my main setup, if I use hardware, I take along my Eventide Orville for pitch-shifting and specialty items.

-----------------------------

In addition, i use MAX/MSP sometimes, and for plug-ins I use mainly the Live Plug-ins, the Wave Arts plugins like Track Plug and MasterVErb, and PSPAudioWare products, mainly the PSP84 and the Multi_Tap Delay.

hope that helps, happy to answer any other questions.

Oh, here's one other thing... If and when I get a little extra bread, I would go with some other good folks on this list for the RME interface products.  On my Tower I still use a Metric Halo, which is equally high end...

All Best, Ariel!  Todd

Hey Chris, Todd and Rick.
What interfaces are you using? and with what software?

Very best, Ariel.

Don't know if this helps, but I ran a powerbook G4 for the last year
straight doing 4 hour jobs, 1-3 times a week in clubs, bars with a
live drummer and had no problems. Not even a single glitch or anything.
Ofcourse until New Years Eve when I came home and got out of my car
and dropped it about a foot or so. Lost the display and using a
 brand new macBook now.

I also keep a fan on my laptop live the whole night too.
The laptop sits on a heavy duty music stand with a fan
attached underneath blowing up. I use iTunes for the between
 set music also.
