EDP Undo question

My EDP has run well since about 2003, using the FC7 as sole controlling
device.  I have it set for one loop only to keep the maximum memory
available for overdubs and undo, which has been very beneficial.  I've
always just hit the button until all the desired passes were gone, or until
the light goes out to indicate undo is no longer possible.

Lately, I've noted that after three or so consecutive undo's done in quick
order, the light doesn't go out--instead, it will act as if I've hit the
record button, starting a new loop from scratch.  Since I haven't changed
the programming, could this be an issue in the FC7 itself?
