Betreff: Laptop Audio Interface

So, another broad and general advice question.  I need an audio interface for my Macbook and I was curious what the general consensus on the range of options out there might be.  I'd like to keep things around maybe $300 or less (though I might be convinced otherwise if there is a good reason to spend more).  I'm not likely to be recording any large scale ensembles so I probably don't need more than four inputs (if that).  Of course I'll be looping so the latency thing is an issue.  Also, Firewire versus USB 2?  Firewire would be nice just because it would leave a USB port open for something else but I don't know if its worth paying extra for.

Any pointers or advice would be greatly appreciated
