This makes me remember something Glenn Branca said when I met him here
in Stockholm to do a magazine cover up of his Guitar Orchestra. That
band is just a huge swarm of guitarists and when recruiting musicians
he especially makes sure they play neutrally sounding guitars. For
example, no Telecasters are allowed, since that instrument's sound is
not neutral enough for the layering that his Guitar Orchestra to a
great deal is about.
