Zeitgeist, The Movie... WAS... Semi-OT: Int'l Travellers' Laptops Confiscated...

Dave,

i just wanted to say, that although I took it with a fairly hefty pinch of salt, I just downzoned and watched your suggested link to Zeitgeist.

THANK YOU!

And although one has to wade through quite a few minutes of long and drawn out arty farty nonsense, esspecially at the beginning, which was a shame, ... WOW... what a movie... Not that i had'nt heard most of it before, but for its well researched and (shock horror) brilliantly written and presented messages.
Take this off list if you prefer, but how was this movie made, and has it been aired? I may be able to get it shown on Norwegian TV, over here... if only as a highly editted form (three episode for example)...
I didnt quite see the relavance of the Religeon section, and the subject has been done to death on Discovery recently, but again, the conciseness and simplicity of how it was presented made an often muddy subject clear!

BUT THE 911 STUFF... OMG... The government funded and planned operation of 911, is a commonly held hypothesis over here, but there was so much in this depiction that i never heard of!!! A few unanswered question too however, can't this be spammed to the American voter somehow???

Thanks again, you saved me from a sofa doze evening...

They're confiscating any laptops they feel like confiscating and copying the hard drive for later inspection, the way I heard it. And you may or may not get it back and they may or may not tell you when. It's just part of how they're stripping away our rights in their attempt to have a 'war on terror'.

Hitler did the same thing...burned down his own buildings, called it a terrorist attack, used it to consolidate the country's people against his enemy to further his agenda, stripped the people of their rights and started wars he said were pre-emptive. The more we let them get away with this kind of thing, the more they'll do it, and the more they do it, the more they'll know they can get away with. And now with an election coming up that they know they're likely to lose, they'll start doing all kinds of stuff to insure that their agenda has to be carried out even in their absence. In my opinion, that's why they took the terror alert up the other day...just something to scare people...just a little...but they'll take up another notch or two...before they invade Iran or whatever they feel they need to before they get out of office...

Wanna download something legal, and worthwhile?

Sure, it's conspiracy theory stuff, but that doesn't make it incorrect....

Per, I disagree with you on the semiotics of jihad, but that path just
leads to political arguments better held elsewhere. there are endless
places on the web to "discuss" things like this.

In regards to this laptop inspection thing - i don't know if it's
related to this story, but there was a story circulating on the tech
podcasts a month or two ago about inspectors confiscating laptops with
allegedly pirated music files on them. and, since the customs
authorities (and, indeed, almost everyone) has no way to tell which
files might be pirated and which not, they were confiscating laptops
with *any* music on it. i don't know how true this is, but i would
think twice before taking my laptop into or out of the US.
