the other thing was that i didn't have to worry about midi issues.  
usually, its risky for me to setup and then leave everything for an  
extended period before performing. sometimes the midi between my motu  
ultralite and my external gear will die. the only way to get it back  
is restart the motu. i suffer many anxieties wondering if my midi  
will be live and i have yet to solve the issue. motu blames apple.  
apple blames motu. ableton blames motu.

but with no external gear, there is are no midi connections to worry  
about other than my pedal.
