RE: TuneCore - Opinions?

Perhaps it should be noted that CD Baby was sold to Disk Makers (out of Philadelphia, PA, I believe) which would mean that there may now be a direct tie-in available for production, printing etc.  I did note that CD Baby recently listed licensing as a new service, meaning that those who are recording other artists’ material may be able to have licensing paperwork and fees attached to manufacturing fees.  I haven’t investigated this, but will be doing so within a few months.

Yep ...what Travis said.

And as I said, I've had zero problems with the folks at TuneCore ... you just have to remember you are paying them for a service, that being the coordination of a number of other services including CD production, product placement, etc., and go from there.

Sure, TuneCore provided you a service, part of which included printing.  That part of that service can subcontracted out to a 3rd party, but you still pay TuneCore.  The printing service gives TuneCore a cut for handling the front end of things, you just have to write one check and have one point of contact for any customer service issues.

Are you saying that they contract out the printing?  I paid TuneCore directly.
