Mixer selection - advice?

Hello.. Thanks to everyone who previously offered advice on which looper
to pursue.

With my way of doing things I narrowed it down to a looperlative,
echoplex, repeater or software. I think I will go with software while
saving up for the hardware.

Which brings me to my next question..

I'm considering getting a USB mixer as my front line of attack.

Has anyone had any expereience with a Yamaha MG166c-usb (or cx-usb)? I
think I like the idea of built in compression and built in sound card.

I have two concerns though

1. I previously (when first getting into home studio stuff a while back)
used an external soundblaster audigy going into cubase vst (and later SX)
which gave me terrible lag (on auio and midi) no matter what I did.
I would up with several midiman (m-audio) sound cards which worked
extremely well because they were PCI. I've never had any good experience
with USB based audio. Can anyone here confirm or supress my fears of great
latency with this gear?

2. I'm woried about the sample rate producing low-quality sounds. Again,
any thoughts?

Thanks a bunch! Oh and if anyone wants to hear the style I produce and
would like to bring to the looping table check out
www.myspace.com/djsamwise the genre is christian/electronic/folkrock.

Jam on!
