krispen's free jazz/avant garde....

i was looking up free jazz, and a lot of the folks listed are sax/horn players....like i said, is gtr bass drums more of just a trad. jazz setup?
i know i hear a lot about organ trios w/ gtr/organ/drums....i saw pat martino play a # of yrs ago in our li'l midwestern town, and i think his performing group
was more organ trio, & boy he played fast guitar lines on his semi-hollow...

other person listed in wiki free jazz listing besides derek bailey is marc ribot.

some others that i just became aware of, not really sure if they are "jazz" or improv based:

julien kasper -i just got 2 of his cds, he has a new one out, it's kind of "jazzy", but it is gtr/bass/drums...

the other i've been curious about is wayne krantz, he has a new album out also.  again i've seen some utube clips, good guitarists, just don't really
know how to classify them
i've also been going through some old articles that i've kept. a guitarist-bill horist-i think he's mostly solo now-but he had 2 former bands:UnFolkUs & Nobodaddy-both described as "improv groups"-no idea if it's really "jazz"-now he does a lot of prepared guitar looping/noise. i have one of his discs. very percussive, interesting. but he seems to be out there doing this stuff live....(in one of the articles i read it talked about "seattle's avant jazz scene?" at least a few yrs ago)

i also have the 1st john mclaughlin album on disc-w/ buddy miles on drums-it's sort of interesting "jazz-rockish"
again-i'm not sure if these are exactly-gtr/bass/drums....but the only references i have....
another thing you may want to check out is john zorn -i think he had improvising bands-bill frisell used to play w/ him. haven't heard his stuff, just heard of him....
