I think great strides have been made with piezo sound processing.  Now they're tolerable to my ears.  The old systems had so much grit and quack that I can't stand hearing them.

i'm interested in this as well, because we do a few acoustic tunes in my covers bands and i like the saddle replacement idea (rather then the bridge replacement idea, as per fishman)

I never heard piezos I liked before tho'.
