Re: "Art of the Stompbox" opening: David Torn & Henry Kaiser playing....

Well, this is very cool - thanks.

One thing that stands out for me - ok, as Torn says, maybe there is "no context" is some sense, but it is a performance/demonstration and at the end there is little or no communication between guitarists or between guitarists and audience apart from through sound.  The visual is the guitarists involved in their manipulations. I find this aspect very interesting, too.

this was just posted (i found out about  it on fri)
this is a 2 hr video of the opening of the show "Art of the Stompbox" at the museum of making music in CA.
David Torn starts playing at about 45 min, then Henry Kaiser plays, and then they do a bit together at the end.

i know when i watched it last nite i used headphones, and the sounds they got i was just enthralled...learned a bit from HK also..
i know i watched a little bit of it again just w/ computer speakers and the sound didn't sound so great to me...so realize it's a vid camera catching this.
but i still found it enjoyable.
and there's some looping in it.
