Re: Mobius in a rack unit

Hi Jeff,

Thanks, I have never programmed for audio applications before, and although I have used mobius (it is excellent, by the way), I have barely scratched the surface of all of the available capabilities it contains. So, if it was open source I would be looking at it more for the content (ideas) rather than the code. I can still do that just by using it more and learning all of the functionality -- right now I went back to hardware loopers mostly because I am on the computer 8-10 hours a day and would rather just twiddle knobs on a box than spend more time on a computer during my off hours.

It is a nice product already and you have done an excellent job, you should reap some of the rewards of your work.

Thanks,
Eric

No Mobius isn't open source for several reasons. Mostly there are pieces

of it that I may choose to incorporate in a commercial product and I

don't want to muddy things up with multiple-licenses and contributor

copyrights.

Honestly in this case I don't think it would make much difference.  Mobius on an FPGA

would be so profoundly different that I would probably just start over from scratch

using some of the same design ideas but none of the same code.

Rainer,

You piqued my curiosity too....I know Jeff is way overloaded, but is Mobius open source? That would be a fun project to do in my spare time (if I had any......)

Thanks,
Eric
