Re: softstep and mobius users

I want to use the softstep to just send PC and note messages on various channels, spread across 4 different banks (or "scenes" in softstep-speak).

I must be a doof because I'm finding this surprisingly hard to achieve. I have time to take another stab at it today.

But yes, there isn't any user forum that I know of...this seems a good place to compare notes.

I have one on order.  Just reading specs, I'll probably
set it up much like the FCB, each switch sends note on/off
0-9 in bank 1, 10-19 in bank 2, etc.

I'm not sure how useful the pressure sensitivity will be.

The obvious candidates are the output level, feedback, and pan
controls but you usually want those to be smooth and it sounds
like that might be difficult.  If we have to we could implement
some kind of controller smoothing with scripts.

Rate and pitch shift amount are other possibilities.  Setting
parameters like the number of subcycles or Quantize Mode could
also be done but for those I think it's easier to cycle through
a set of values just by pressing a switch several times rather
than trying to dial one in with pressure.

We'll see...
