What kind of midi cable are you using? if its the cheap kind with the thick plastic molded ends like hosa cables, they won't seat far enough in to the LP-1 to make proper contact, use a high quality metal end midi cable, If you haven't used the LP-1 in a while you might spray the midi ports with a good cleanser like D-Oxit as oxidation can cause problems as well. if you live in a humid climate or by a body of water. if you have a midi interface i'd do what Daniel suggested, and run a midi diagnostic. if all else fails send it back to Bob and he will fix it, sorry you are having issues
