There is some Mac software I believe, but its only for firmware 2 or above (does it go above 2?) My FCB is firmware 1.00 and has lasted 8 years, with only a few switches going dodgy that I replaced simply and easily)  And I find programming it pretty simple now... The weirdness of which you spoke is I believe the initial setting up of the global shit... If anyone needs another explanation of that just ask...

Ufortunately there are still few hardware boxes capable of midi learn, (LP1 being one exception I believe) so IMNOHO, its best to get used to programing the FCB without software, frankly, plugging it into the computer and faffing with software and midi ins and outs and wondering why its not working.. etc, takes much longer than LONG DOWN UP PRESS PRESS UP PRESS UP LONG DOWN
