Another little demo

Howdy loopers! :) I'm enjoying reading the conversations on this list. The VoiceTouch Live is amazing---I wish I could sing. :)

I thought this might be of interest since a few people asked me what/how I was doing. I put together another video demo doing looped sequencing on the iPad with the app NanoStudio:

The trick with this is that when a track is armed for recording you can still play notes on an attached keyboard and have the new notes go into the last track you were looking at. Then you can jump over to the Song screen (where you can see all looping tracks) and do things like mute tracks, delete track data, or change to a new track.

I figured out a new trick: it turns out that "muting" a track doesn't actually do that. It just stops sending sequence data. So by selecting the track that has a looped sequence on it, you can hit the Mute button and keep playing notes with the keyboard. That really helps change up the monotony of having the same 4-bar sequence repeated ad infinitum. In this demo I'm muting the bass sequence then playing a new progression, then when I'm done I can unmute the sequence to bring the old bass pattern back.
