Hey Kay'lon,I'd stick go with a bigger processor (and bigger size) over a thin and light laptop for music, but even the ultrabooks are pretty good these days. I'd concur with those who say to avoid Sony, and I'd add HP and Gateway to that list of manufacturers who stop supporting older products.--On Sun, May 5, 2013 at 8:55 PM, kay'lon rushing <firstname.lastname@example.org> wrote:
What about ultrabooks? I want something thin and light. Are they good enough? Say like an i5 1.8 ghz with 8gb ram. Would that handle well with vst patches and stuff? On May 4, 2013 4:22 PM, "Mark Hamburg" <email@example.com> wrote:I also recommend staying away from Sony's. In my experience, Sony's support from the standpoint of drivers, etc stops soon after they ship the machine.MarkOn May 3, 2013, at 7:04 PM, Stephen Goodman wrote:I’d stay away from the Sonys. They tend to have a lot of special stuff that’s Sony-only. Acer makes a reliable machine!
