Hey Phil,
When I got my SoftStep I wanted to use the navigation keys in the same way 
but abandoned the Idea, when i realized it's not possible by default. I 
never thought of hacking it, as I'm not very familiar with all the 
computer stuff. If you find way to do the trick, please let me know.
