Re: Moopz arduino midi looper

Here is the first video I found on YouTube from the person that made it I'm guessing http://youtu.be/Qx1R-JXGoxs and here is mine today
I just figured out where the loop starts and pattern is found. Added pink led to indicate. I think that will be part of the key to determining bpm.
Thanks for the interest. That inspired me and to post a video. And to continue hacking at it.

Cant help, but watching this with interest... let us know how you got on Robin.. Ive been talking about a midi looper for yonks.

The functionality of the project seems a little off. It actually DETECTS where it thinks you want to put a loop? Odd. sound pretty random, but maybe be very fun of course.

I can see that the main thing to make this a usable thing rather than just a gimmick, would be to synch it to incoming midi clock... In a sense it doesnt matter where it loops then, as long as its on a midi clock cycle.

I just looked at the Google Code page, are there any YouTubes of it in operation?

Very cool, thanks for sharing!

I've been dipping into the arduino pool as well but unfortunately can't help
you with the coding for this.   Have you asked any of the arduino coding
forums?  You might find some similar coding you can leverage with regards to
some of the pulse oximeter, and heart beat monitoring codes that are pretty
extensively promulgated around the web. I've seen some code that actually
looks for beats in the heart rhythm to calculate 'Beats per minute'.

Please keep us posted (well, at least me ;-))! Would love to hear how this
turns out.

All the best, Robin!!

Subject: Moopz arduino midi looper

I'm taking a shot in the dark to see if anyone has built this project? Or if
I can find the project owner. I started with arduino a few months ago and
this is my first serious project. I found it at moopz.googlecode.com . I
built it and is working. It is looping 4 separate midi slots. But the slots
are sync free or sync independent. The email of the project admin doesn't
work so I can't send messages there. Maybe someone in this group has
experience with moopz, arduino ,midi sync/tempo . I'm trying to determine
the tempo from the first loop and sync the others to it? Thanks in advance
