Formed in 1984, by Michael Weicker, Weep, O' Mine Eyes has been an evolutionary journey to present day. Weep, O' Mine Eyes was inspired by the German Expressionist Movement of the early 20th Century, by such artists as Oscar Kokoschka and by early industrial musicians such as Throbbing Gristle, Chris and Cosey, Kraftwerk, Thomas Leer and Robert Rental. Weep, O' Mine Eye's early musical experiments utilized analogue synthesizers, drum machines, eastern hand drums, as well as found objects such as metal canisters and power tools. In recent years, digital and analogue modeling synthesizers have been added to the studio as well as samplers and an Eigenharp. This augmentation, coupled with digital sequencing and mixing equipment has allowed for an elaborate mix of past and present electronic music technology. https://weepomineeyes.bandcamp.com Weep, O' Mine Eyes on Apple Music .. 10:00 . Whisper Room . Whisper Room is a trio featuring Aidan Baker (Nadja) on guitar/effects, Neil Wiernik (NAW) on bass/laptop and Jakob Thiesen (Students) on drums. Mine is one of the early units bought directly from Bob at his house back in autumn 2006 (doesn't even have a serial # :-) running 1.30a. I ask because I'm hooking it up to a Novation RemoteZeroSL and I have 8 faders set to track (1-8) volume, 8 pots set to track (1-8) pan and 8 endless rotary encoders that I can't find any other variable track (1-8) variables to set to. I'd like to use them to sweep individual track feedback, but can't figure out how to do it. I'm currently using 2 buttons per track, 1 for a macro selecting a specific track then feedback +10% and the other macro selects a specific track then feedback -10%, but I'd rather be able to control that with encoders instead of predefined +/- 5% or +/- 10% buttons. Thanks! Dennis --000000000000484723057382bcbc Content-Type: text/html; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable

I'm hoping someone on loopers-delight can help me out because the Looperlative FB page is very low traffic and I wonder if or when I'll hear anything back :-) 1) LP1Ctl.jar I'm having a problem getting the LP1Ctl.jar program to recognize the LP1 on the same LAN as the laptop. After doing a lot of research on connecting external devices via ethernet to laptop I tried various settings on the LP1, exactly matching them on the laptop ethernet properties for static 4 TCP/IP. Finally after hours of trying I used these settings on both LP1 & laptop: IP: 192:168:1:101 Gateway: 192:168:1:1 Netmask: 255:255:255:0 DNS: 10:0:0:1 I started LP1Ctl.jar and it showed "Connected"! I ran the upgrade from v1 to v2 choosing the highest release I got from the Looperlative FB site, version2_22. The upgrade worked properly. I wrote down all the successful settings, but every time since that I've run LP1Ctl.jar, it fails and I'm back to getting the "Not connected" message. I also tried this on my other laptop running Windows 10 with the same result..."Not connected". 2) Why does it matter? I want to move to a different upgrade because 2.22, for one thing, shows the wrong tracks when you press the track buttons on the front of the unit. Makes me wonder what else could be going wrong in there. Button 1 = T1 Button 2 = T2 *Button 3 = T4* *Button 4 = T3* Button 5 = T5 Button 6 = T6 *Button 7 = T8* *Button 8 = T7* Also, the most recent manual I can find (1.38) describes a "mellotron mode" feature that I want to use, but it appears to be nowhere to be found in V2.22. I want to reload version1_38g to try it out. 3) Help Does anyone have any idea why the network settings worked once getting my LP1 on the LAN for LP1Ctl.jar, but never again? I've also posted for help on the Looperlative FB site, but mine was the first post in 5 months and honestly I wonder if I'll ever see a response there. 4) V2.22 Manual If I can't get the LP1 reconnected and downgraded to 1_38g and am stuck with 2.22, is there any kind of manual anywhere to help me figure out what I have to work with? Upgrading/Downgrading the LP1 is a bit tricky because you can't just go from one version to *any* other.

The firmware controlling the upgrade changed, so there's a specific order that you have to do firmware changes.

Afraid I don't recall exactly, but the info is on the FB page if you scroll down.

I doubt there's a V2.22 manual, but expect 'mellotron mode' will work the same.
iirc it's a way to control pitch using Note-On commands.
The DSP to do that isn't sophisticated, it's very lo-fi digital sounding. (no interpolation between samples, if that means anything to you).

There's only one Looperlative guy, that's Bob Amstadt and unfortunately his available time to work on LP1 is limited by far too many other tasks that he can't avoid,
...but the FB group is the place to ask and he does respond there if he can.

sorry to not me more help,

andy

1)  LP1Ctl.jar

I'm having a problem getting the LP1Ctl.jar program to recognize the LP1 on the same LAN as the laptop.  After doing a lot of research on connecting external devices via ethernet to laptop I tried various settings on the LP1, exactly matching them on the laptop ethernet properties for static 4 TCP/IP.  Finally after hours of trying I used these settings on both LP1 & laptop:

2) Why does it matter?

I want to move to a different upgrade because 2.22, for one thing, shows the wrong tracks when you press the track buttons on the front of the unit.  Makes me wonder what else could be going wrong in there.

Button 1 = T1
Button 2 = T2
Button 3 = T4
Button 4 = T3
Button 5 = T5
Button 6 = T6
Button 7 = T8
Button 8 = T7

Also, the most recent manual I can find (1.38) describes a "mellotron mode" feature that I want to use, but it appears to be nowhere to be found in V2.22.  I want to reload
version1_38g to try it out.

3) Help

Does anyone have any idea why the network settings worked once getting my LP1 on the LAN for LP1Ctl.jar, but never again?  I've also posted for help on the Looperlative FB site, but mine was the first post in 5 months and honestly I wonder if I'll ever see a response there.

4) V2.22 Manual

If I can't get the LP1 reconnected and downgraded to 1_38g and am stuck with 2.22, is there any kind of manual anywhere to help me figure out what I have to work with?

Hi Dennis,
1. & 3. Make sure you don't have any devices on IP: 192:168:1:101 example: if your laptop is on 192:168:1:101 - move the LP1 to 192:168:1:102
as the router DHCP will dish out ip's on a first come first serve basis.
I can't remember about the DNS - i think this used to be Bob server number and the LP1 would pull the upgrade over the web ...
you could try pointing it to - but probably best left - but no harm trying it.
You could try connecting via your browser to the LP1 by just type the it's IP address - you should find that more reliable - The LP1 will have all options available via web browser.
The LP1Ctl.jar wasn't finished when Bob ditched everything and probably never will be.

2. & 4.  the version 2 releases were Beta - releases, where he was shutting down features to bug hunt.
As the LP1 was locking up - so he disabled things like scramble and mellotron and midi clock I think ...
He's actually forgotten this! - as he start working on it  years later ...
so no you won't find a manual - 1.38 was the last ... before his freak out with the forum.

You should be able to upgrade or downgrade to any OS - I don't remember any limitation here .

My advice would be find the most stable OS version with the features that suit you and stick with that ...
As for waiting for Bob to fix all this  ... Best invest in a zimmer frame rackmount kit.

Kind regards

Hi all,

I've spent the past couple days trying to upgrade my 2006 black LP1 and have a few questions.  I'm hoping someone on loopers-delight can help me out because the Looperlative FB page is very low traffic and I wonder if or when I'll hear anything back :-)

IP: 192:168:1:101
Gateway: 192:168:1:1
Netmask: 255:255:255:0
DNS: 10:0:0:1

I started LP1Ctl.jar and it showed "Connected"!

Thanks!
Dennis

Here's what I'm doing: 1) Set LP1 as follows from my 1.20 manual: IP: 192.168.99.2 Gate: 192.168.99.1 Netmask: 255.255.255.0 2) Set laptop ethernet:properties:Internet Protocol Version 4 to the exact same settings as the LP1. 3) Open browser and try to connect with: http://192.168.99.2 but it eventually times out. 4) I've tried with both a regular ethernet cable and a crossover cable...no connection. 5) I've also tried letting the laptop dynamically determine the IP, Gate, Netmask...no connection. I'm going nuts trying to get this simple connection to work with no success. Am I missing something obvious??? Thanks!
