| Projects/Ensembles: | Mostly retired these days (see age). Group and solo improvisational performance with guitars, loopage and found objects, if logistics are easy and support is adequate. |
| Instruments: | Electric, acoustic and MIDIed guitars played with metal banjo fingerpicks, e-bows, brass slides, hacksaws, springs, and kitchen utensils. |
| Looping Gear: | Once upon a time it was 2 Echoplex Digital Pros, 2 Lexicon Vortexes and a bunch of other toys that rotated in and out of my (too large) rack. Then it was a MacBook Pro running Max MSP and a couple instances of EchoLoop VST and a plethora of patches and plug-ins Jeff Kaiser helped me devise. Now it is post computer, and back to pedals again (some on the floor and some on a table top). |
| Influences: | Leo Kottke, John McLaughlin, Terje Rypdal, David Torn, Robert Fripp, Sonny Sharock, Frank Zappa, Jeff Beck, David Gilmour, Mike Keneally, Bill Frisell, Nels Cline, Eugene Chadbourne, Steve Tibbetts, Christian Fennesz, Eivind Aarset, Dusan Jevtovic, and Andre LaFosse are all personal listening favorites - and there are so many others - I by no means have the talent to really sound like any of them. |
| Musical Style: | Postmodern avant/ambient/folk/jazz/rock/guitarchitecture/guitar-torture/noise. Music with ambient tendencies but with a bad attitude and a more intensity. |
