Roots Stepper
Location:Byron Bay, NSW, Australia
Email Address(es):rootsstepper@gmail.com
Website URL(s):www.myspace.com/rootsstepper
Instruments:Beatbox, Slide-Didge (Trombone like Didgeridoo), Lapsteel Slide Guitar
Looping Gear:Boomerang III, Akai Headrush E2
Influences:Dub FX, Rahzel, Beardyman, Ben Harper, That One Guy, Bassnectar, Freak Nasty, V. Mohan Bhatt, Bob Brozman, Harry Manx, Massive Attack, Faithless, Michael Franti, Wild Marmelaide, AB Didgeridoo Oblivion, The Umbilical Brothers, Indigenous Australians
Musical Style:Organic Dubstep & Breaks fused with Didj beats & Slide guitar blues
ROOT STEPPER:
Coalescing Dubstep with dirty Slide-guitar Blues, Didge Roots with looped
beatboxed Breaks.

It sounds mostly electronic, yet it's totally organic!

Think Dubfx, That 1 Guy, Bassnectar meets Xavier Rudd, John Butler &
Michael Franti.

Imagine a Massive Attack version of Xavier Rudd tune or a Bassnectar remix
of Ben Harper. That kinda vibe all done live by one man in a phat looping
frenzy with adroit lapsteel slide guitar playing & precision Slide-Didge
(a trombone-like Didgeridoo) blasting.

Roots Stepper is the brainchild of international touring artist, Nathan
Kaye, who's performed as a genre-bending Roots & Blues one-man-band freak
on stages around the world at festivals like Glastonbury festival (UK),
Edinburgh Fest (UK), Splendour In the Grass (QLD/NSW), Woodford Folk
Festival (Qld), EarthDay Fest (Bali), Irish Greenman fest (Ireland) as
well as supported & jammed onstage with an array of artists including John
Butler, Jason Mraz, Paul Kelly, Paul Dempsey (Something For Kate) in
infamous venues like The Viper Room (LA), Speigel Tent (Edinburgh), The
Basement (Syd), Mojo's (Freo, WA) & on & on & friggin' om..
