Coming from a metal background I've got a few ideas:
 
There's an old Ibanez SC-10 stereo chorus that just sounds wonderful to me.  No, it's not super warm or analog sounding, but a metal player would probably love it.  It's the light blue one.
 
My black Russian Big Muff with green letters is a favorite for me for crunch sounds. 
There's a Danelectro Grilled Cheese distortion that has a wah circuit built into it that I've been loving lately.  You can really get a nice mid-cut metal sound out of it.  25 bucks.

For Distortion the Marshall Shredmaster is amazing and for chorus i would always go to the Electro Harmonix Small Clone.
