Re: Owen Pallett Heartland



To be honest, I wasn't a huge fan of his music until I saw him live (not 
that I didn't like it - it was just kind of in the take it or leave it 
pile). Last year he played in Calgary as part of the Sled Island festival 
at this gorgeous church downtown and I was blown away by his live 
performance. Besides being devilishly charismatic, the mini-orchestra of 
sounds he creates with his live looping setup is incredible. Truly an 
amazing performer.

Your post made me look up some videos of him, and this one, while pretty 
horrible audio quality, showcases some of the ingenious and extremely 
musical ways he uses his looping setup live:
