I'm looking for a decent recording/performance mic
in the range of $400, for my archtop guitar. I''ve found that I totally
love the sound of this instrument miced at about 6" away from where the neck
meets the guitar...very Derek Bailyesque. :) I'm
just using a cheap SM57 now and need a condensor mic with a wider range and
fidelity. Any suggestions?
The reviews of the Sure SM81 look good for
acoustic. I have used the Rode NT1s in the past too with good
results.
