I just wanted to pitch in a bit on the flatwound line here.
My Luthier convinced me to try d'adario Chrome XL's. I had tried
flatwounds
in the past & never liked them as I found the tone rather dead & I didn't
care for the "rubber band" feel the wound strings had. I am now a
confirmed
user & absolutely love them. I change the plains as soon as they get a
little tarnished & the wounds about every 2 months. The tone is amazing
for
flats & I suspect that no one could pick out which strings I'm using. If

See if you can tell which song the electric guitar parts are flatwounds.
