If your going to pay Boss/Roland prices then the FV-50L is the 
one to go for.

EV-5 is an expression pedal, not what the EDP is designed to use.


The EDP design is supposed to be fairly forgiving of being used
with a range of foot controllers, but with varying eveness
of response. 

What's needed is a "volume control for line level signals" like the FV-50L
