Impulse responses are great fun! Like having infinit mountains of
stomp boxes ;-))

Rick, I used a Lexicon impulse from that free library (M7) on the
piece I recorded with the music box you gave me! I recently put that
piece online for free download if someone is interested:

Personally I think impulse response technique is great fun for other
stuff than reverb too! I bought some very cheap and extremely
inspiring impulses from http://www.spiritcanyonaudio.com/ many years
ago. Not a decent reverb in there, but great noise and weird
ambiences, actually better suited for composition than for mixing.
Some of Spiritcanyon's impulse libraries are produced to match defined
tempi and can be used for rhythm design. I wanted to use them live in
Sir on a laptop but convolution consumed way too much CPU cycles to be
stable (better in the studio applied on non live input stuff).

I also recorded an Eventide Eclipse and rolled my own impulse respons
library of the patches I found useful, but that project was an Epic
Failure because the cool thing with the Eclips is all the instant
subtle dynamics in the sound (as can also be stated regarding the
legendary Lexicon hardware reverb). Since impulse responses are
totally dead regarding dynamics the Eventide sound patches totally
lost the magic vibe when getting frozen as impulse responses.
