LOL, I've never fully taken in that term either... so far. I do know
*electronic* and *electro acoustic* music, but what exactly is
"electronica" supposed to be? My closest guess - if looking at people
that use the word - would be electronic music that stick to steady
beats for rhythm and pop influenced repeated melody parts? Like Lali
Puna or Röyksopp, both fav's of mine BTW.

Can't say that certain music inspires me more than other but among
music that is electronically produced and performed I enjoy listening
to original Trance (like Juno Reactor, not the later Trance Techno)
all the way through Goa, jungle, the German clicks-n-cuts stuff about
ten years ago and minimal inspired music like Robert Rich. I love
wicked dance techno too. Finally Dead Can Dance is a big favorite;
they moved into techno by the early nineties (but I liked them even
before that) and BTW I just heard that Brendan Perry's upcoming solo
album is produced "in the box" with only software instruments and
plugins.
