One way the DD 20 does this is by turning the feedback to 100% (infinite) or any feedback setting for that matter, and then press the "off" FS. The delay will keep playing without adding to the loop. Another way is to set the FB and then advance to the next memory location. The delay will play forever (100%) or whatever you set. This is until you advance once more.

my answer: yes, the dd20 does do delay looping, you just have to mess w/ the feedback knob, i don't remember it having a lock/hold option (but it was a while back that i had this, & my memory is crap....).
