However, four people on stage playing instruments is 'theatre'. One man sitting behind a laptop looking like he is surfing the internet is not.
I remember seeing some footage of Jimmy Page talking about people previously going to concerts to 'see' the band (he cites his own seeing of the Beatles with this intention), and that people were now coming (to see Led Zepplin and the like) to 'hear' the music.. so, I guess what I am saying is, nothing ever changes.. or, everything keeps changing in the same way.. or, there are cycles in everything.. or.. 1/2 time and reverse it.. hehe.. :)

I agree with Brian Eno, ...these days concerts are a social experience
for the majority of attendees.
Nothing wrong with that, and nothing wrong with "putting on a show",
but lets not ignore the real music/magic.
