Hello, I think you're grasping at something here but it's lost in the way you are trying to communicate it. In the Bourree there is still a melody in the upper voice with a bass line to accompany it. Perception doesn't really have anything to do with it. If you are intending to get across two melodies, a Fugue or Invention would be a much better choice since the listener can discern two melodies ( in the case of a fugue, subjects ) at once. Still not sure what the overall point is though. > ----- Original Message ----- > From: andy butler <akbutler@tiscali.co.uk> > To: Loopers-Delight@loopers-delight.com > Subject: Re: Bowing Stick - practice session clip shared > Date: Wed, 07 Jul 2010 09:33:36 +0100 > > > Mark Showalter wrote: > > > > Hello, > > > > I'm completely lost as to what the point is here. > > The piece Fabio posted would sound more obviously like two melodies > if played faster > and smoother, > ;-) ....or if you made the perceptual shift to hear it that way. > > > It's more obvious here:- > > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jKSg8t4zyLg > > .. try just listening to the bass line. > > andy > > > > Here's an example of two melody: > > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXsFQeENm-c&feature=related > > <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXsFQeENm-c&feature=related> > > > > -fabio > > > > > > > > > > > > Mark Showalter > > Minden Jot! > > > > myspace.com/folkstone57 > > http://www.last.fm/music/Mark+Showalter > > <http://www.mylivesignature.com> > > > > > > -- _______________________________________________ > > Surf the Web in a faster, safer and easier way: > > Download Opera 9 at http://www.opera.com > > > > > Mark Showalter Minden Jot! myspace.com/folkstone57 http://www.last.fm/music/Mark+Showalter -- _______________________________________________ Surf the Web in a faster, safer and easier way: Download Opera 9 at http://www.opera.com
