Re: Rang III Software Ver 2.0

If you're referring to the physical build quality, it's a tank. The only
potential weakness might be the knobs on the pots. They stick up kind of
high, which makes them very easy to use, but they are exposed and since
they
are high or "tall", a good kick or hit could conceivably break one. So far
so good, though. I gig with mine a lot and have had no mishaps. I don't
think it will a problem (knocks head).

I like the pots as they are of the infinitely-spinning variety with tiny
little détentes that you can feel as you spin them. The détentes are in
such
tiny increments that you can get very fine and accurate adjustments out of
them.

The footswitches are the same as on the 'Rang II, and I love them. They
are
very flat and close to the surface of the unit, and that makes for better
accuracy since the travel distance of the switches is very small.

Overall I am extremely happy with the unit, except that there are way too
few foot switches. Obviously they went for a small footprint but at the
expense of the musician having too choose some functions and not have the
others available without bending down and re-assigning in the middle of
your
performance. The good news is that they are supposedly working on creating
an add-on pedal with more switches.

Sound quality is superb to my ear, far better than the 'Rang II, which is
to
be expected when you look at the specs. It lives up to the printed specs.
A
loop of my acoustic guitar playing back sounds almost identical to the
original signal. I could tell the difference if I were blindfolded but
certainly the average listener would not be able to.

I hear there has been some discussion of people not being able to get a
perfectly seamless loop, which I understand is a problem with most
loopers.
The new manual that I just received with the software has a section on
getting a good seamless, droning loop going, but I haven't tried it yet.
I'll report back.

The new software seems to deliver as promised. You can do sequential loops
and different types of synched loops. You can also do up to 4 independent
loops that you can start and stop independently of the others. You can
stack
on those, of course.

The input levels are far less finicky than on the 'Rang II. It adjusts
completely automatically, and it seems to be extremely forgiving.

Overall this is a superb machine IMO ...BUT... I NEED more footswitches.

I hope some of that was useful for you.

Brian
