This is brilliant: (from Per's Bidule archived page explaining his sync structure) > I also think it’s cool to set Mobius maximal respectively minimum tempo to a BPM span I like playing in. > This prevents ending up with a way to fast tempo if starting out a session by creating an extremely > short first loop (for glitchy stuff) or with a boring slow tempo if starting out with a very long first loop. I'm wondering A) Can the same be accomplished using Echoloop via some parameter within either Echoloop or Bidule? B) Can a possible over all strategy (for someone who wants to be able to switch between starting with a loop in Echoloop and having drums from a plugin sync to Echoloop OR the reverse, starting with a drum loop in a plugin and having Echoloop sync to the drum loop) be to have Bidule set up within Live and simply switch the Echoloop Midi Sync parameter to "Out" and use an instance of BFD (for instance) as the drum loop within Bidule listening to Echoloop for the sync (all heard through a live track that's just armed and not doing anything) and then when I want to start with a drum loop, switch the Bidule Echoloop Midi Sync parameter to "Host" then use the instance of BFD on another Live track s the drums I can then layer over using the Echoloop within Bidule within the Live track. (I can have two presets of footswitches for BFD on different channels so I can start and stop loops from either by switching the footswitch preset. C) Alternatively (back in just Bidule now) would it be possible to have a few Mater Tempos set up somewhere in Bidule so I could figure out 3 or 4 tempos I generally like playing in and set that with a foot press before starting a song. (Not a full solution, but perhaps part of one.) D) What tempos do you like playing in most? (For different types of things.) Just curious. Anybody else have any other suggestions for sync schemes with that type of flexibility? Could use MainStage once there's an EchoLoop AU as well. Or could learn Mobius, but I checked it out and liked the simplicity and familiarity of Echoloop. (Bidule's complicated enough.) Also, Per, do you have any screen shots and instructions in your archive that outline the steps for how switching works in Bidule? (Switching all sorts of things... midi controllers between plugins, switching audio routing so I could feed things back and fourth between different instances of Echoloop, switching control of EDPs from one instance to another so I don't have to have different foot controller setups for each on different channels, etc., etc, etc. ) I can go nuts with switching but it does not at all work as I expect, though I was able to accomplish some types of switching functions via the matrics, if I remember correctly form my first go at all of this. (I'm in the process of rebuilding my Bidule setup from scratch as the one I made last year won't open.) (I tried the Bidule forum but so far nothing back from that route. ) THANK YOU. ---Christopher On Oct 29, 2010, at 10:29 AM, Per Boysen wrote:
