Zoe,

I just got my replacement softstep and this one seems to be working properly now.

I've been testing it out and noticed that I have to press in the corner of the keys to reliably get it to trigger. If I press in the center (no matter how much pressure) it does not trigger.

See if you aim for the corners if it helps you reliably trigger the keys as well as the nav pad.

If I set the threshold of the pedal to be low, and raise the gain (a setting that amplifies your foot presses), I can get the keys to trigger reliably...but then I run the risk of triggering keys in the bottom row as I reach for the top row. The nav keys (to move between banks) have some kind of trick to it (pressing on the outer edge of the button seems to be the trick), because I can't get that one to go reliably. I need to change banks pretty rapidly and I'm having a bit of difficulty.
