Mark gave me a good AudioMuch walk-through in Santa Cruz and I would
say that your assumptions are correct. To me AudioMuch seems to be
like Bidule if it also had a default Groups Library. A "Group" in
Bidule is a system of signal path patches and processes. You can
create, save and share - by exporting and importing - Groups for
Bidule. But there is no default library as AudioMuch comes with.
Cubase is not good examples because it offers no such "Group thingy",
only separate plug-ins. Ableton Live's "Rack" functionality is more in
line with "Macros" in AudioMuch. Hmmm... maybe Channel STrips, as used
in Logic and Mainstage, could qualify for a tiny bit - but the point
in AudioMulch is that its Macros can be used for "morphing" i.e.
fiddling a joystick to access value changes for a lot of addressed
parameters in one go. Like you can set up in Bidule too, if you have
time at hand... ;-) In Mainstage you can achieve a bit of that by
setting up a number of control objects that are set to listen to the
same external controller but address different parameters inside the
software/plugins/mixer.

It seems the time needed to patch stuff up is what keeps some users
away from Bidule. I can see the point in having the Macro library at
hand in AudioMulch. I can also see the point in Bidule, not being
forced to clog up the screen with more stuff than you actually want to
use. For using Bidule you need to know in advance what you want to do,
while AudioMuch can be used for exploring audio processing that you
have not planned; like "let's see what happens if I touch that button
there...? Ah cool, I'll write a tune with that sound".
