i can vouch for that. i use battery quite a lot and have used the NI studio drums, synthetic drums and various others in my music. i used some on my latest album. the tune called "the space between breaths" used a jazz kit and the tune called "here and now" used one of the studio kits (can't remember which one). i programmed the drums for both tunes completely from scratch. i'm sure a drummer would be able to tell that they are programmed, but they sound ok, i think. they have enough velocity levels that you can get some pretty realistic stuff going, if you have the patience to program with that much detail.
