Re: Y2K10 fuzzy memories
Ten years ago I discovered how nice is to take audio recordings while travelling. I'm not talking about field recordings of nature or places with a specific sound. I'm talking about something similar to a photo picture: when I hear my friends' voices it's like being back to that moment. And each voices reminds me more than its sounds.
This is a recording of a night in Santa Cruz at the very end of the Y2KX Loopfest, "soundtracked" with my music.
Pure fun. Hope you'll enjoy it !

Dear Friends,
Its raining steadily and gusting at times, I'm sitting in my little room looking out the window at the all but decayed looper's shrine created by Michael Klobuchar , aided by my wife Nancy, and contributed to by virtually every looper who visited or stayed with us during the Loopfest. Due to an inordinate amount of rain and stormy weather since the festival, most of the shrine including the post industrial tiki tourches that Scoots constructed, the skis, and the Lemonhead ladder have either blown down or rotted away. I had to remove the rotting giant lemons finally, it wasn't a pretty sight... For me this was the best festival yet, for many reasons, but primarily because of the friendships created and renewed. It was particularly gratifying for me that many of you on this list who I have become friends with were able to make it back again or for the first time. Its just beyond a thrill for me to get to hang out with you all, hear you play, and exchange ideas. Oh and the music was great this year, a really strong and varied group, and this year unlike the last several, I actually got to see nearly everyone perform. I gotta say, over the past few years its been hard for me to maintain a positive attitude, about the world, about money and even about music, and the Loopfest always has a way of inspiring me and lifting me up. It was remarkable to me what Rick was able to pull off, and it was really fantastic that our neighbors stepped up and helped us house those of you that traveled the farthest.
Thanks Rick for an amazing ride, thanks to the Chris and Nancy for tremendous spousal support, thanks to everyone who volunteered in some way and thanks to everyone who made the effort to come so far and share yourselves with us.
Bill
