I agree. Fripp probably exposed more guitarists to looping (kudos to Eno as well) than anybody. He may not be the best the looping world has had to offer, but he certainly has had an impact. And yes, one must respect him for sticking to his guns for his entire career. jonathan ----- Original Message ----- From: Mark Sottilaro Sent: Saturday, August 24, 2002 2:03 AM To: Loopers-Delight@loopers-delight.com Subject: Re: loop device endorsement - was Santanas looping bassist Why splutter? I think MIDI sync is very important in this box. I believe it will help sell more LP1's but I purchased mine (next batch) not only to get in on the ground floor of the development and to help a budding new developer but also for exactly what this box is currently doing. I have two EDP's which I love and will not part with. I also have a Repeater, an EH16 reissue, a RC-20, a RC-20xl, a new Jamman, 2 DD-20's, an old TEAC Reel, old cassettes that I used in the 80's along with an old Boss Rackmount Delay which I could set for near infinite delay. I started looping before I ever heard the term and became enamoured with the sounds. I now feel that looping for me is an extension of instrument and self and I find it hard to play without it when working on small pieces. It helps me develop faster and smarter so to get back to the MIDI sync issue yes it is important but it is a bonus as this box is it's own instrument like the others and it's personality will grow over time just like the EDP or any other of these loopers I listed as it is still the individual who gives live and use to the tool. Where's my tea! thanks for listening.

Happy May Day! Just a note to let everyone on the list know about my new webpages and podcast series. The first 3 episodes are up, they cover roughly 1979-1985. Each show is about 30 minutes long and features about 20 minutes of music per, from my collected recordings of the last 28 years. Loop or delay work is almost always part of the landscape (tape,EH-16,JamMan,EDP) and it increases as the years go by. I'm planning on making it a 24 part series covering all my solo and group work to date. I welcome any and all feedback(off-list) from those who give it a listen. It's free and worth every penny, in my biased opinion. Please check out the blog below for info and links to the above mentioned and more. Thanks for your time and interest, keep on looping.

i'm still not sure why BF & Nels Cline haven't taken to the reissue of the EH16DDL, i think it's a great box, easy to use, the sliders make everythingnice and visual, and i love the pitchshifting options...as Stan says, the pitching down for that slow underwater feel is most fun!!!!!! 21:

Not a bad reviewI received the CD 2 days ago and it is *wonderful*! (At least in my personal opinion). There's a little more ambient pieces on itthan otherwise, but all of the songs, regardless of what they can be categorized as, are brilliant and a joy to hear. An "impression" I got from the order of the tracks (and the title, as well?) was it like being a sea that starts out very calm, and then gradually a "storm" begins to "brew" (as they often can do on the high seas) until it finally becomes furious, and then afterwards, dissipates fairly quickly and the "craft" is back once again on a "calm sea". The production is also immaculate, of course. Definitely REVcommended!Cheers,Rev.
