I'm sidestepping your question about the cc/expression pedal, Neil.  
However, 
it did remind me of something I was told recently, maybe news to some, it 
was 
to me.  (This info was probably posted the day before I started 
subscribing to 
the list!)  Thank you, Greg H. for also confirming this:

Vortex footswitches can still be ordered from Lexicon - take it from there
