YES!
i think this is one of the best ways (in the lower price range!) to record live shows. the mic doesn't sound bad at all. we use a kenwood md-recorder (portable) which gives us the ability to record mono. i don't know if the sharp md-recorder has the same feature, but i guess so. advantage: in case that a show takes longer than the 70something minutes, there's enough space left on the md.
